Commodity price during the first years of production has more impact than the latter years. Projects that are well timed or not with the cycle can perform very differently. A longer mine life can help but low prices in the early years of the mine life is still bad news. Hence, an economically feasible mine should be profitable even when the commodity prices are at their cyclical lows.
